IWWG - International Waste Working Group is a non-profit association that aims to provide a forum to encourage economic and ecological waste management world-wide and to promote scientific advancement in the field

Asia Regional Branch (ARB)

Based on the IWWG Regional Branch Establishment Procedure, a Founding committee was formed by Pin-Jing He (Tongji University, China), Jae Young Kim (Seoul National University, Republic of Korea), and Toshihiko Matsuto (Hokkaido University, Japan), who are members of the Managing Board. Starting from the three countries, Asian Regional Brach (ARB) activity is extended to other Asian countries now.

One of the major activities of the IWWG-ARB so far is the organization of the ARB-Symposiums.

The branch is coordinated by Prof. Pin-Jing He (Tongji University, China) and prof. Jae Young Kim (Seoul National University, Korea).


Past activities:

The 6th Symposium of IWWG-ARB will be held in Philippines in 2025.

The 5th Symposium of IWWG-ARB was held in Bali, Indonesia, from 6th to 8th March 2023, and additionally a technical tour on 8th March was organized.

The 4th Symposium of IWWG-ARB was held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 22th to 24th February, 2019, and additionally a technical tour on 24th February was organized.

The 3rd Symposium of IWWG-ARB was held in Seoul, Republic of Korea, from 12th to 14th April, 2017, and additionally a technical tour on 14th April was organized.

The 2nd Symposium of IWWG-ARB was held in Shanghai, China, from 13th to 14th April, 2015, and additionally a training course on the afternoon of 12th April, and a technical tour on 15th April were organized.

The 1st Symposium of IWWG-ARB was held in Sapporo, Japan, from 18th to 20th March, 2013. The proceedings of this event are available for download from the Members area.
