Post Event: Sardinia 2023 Highlights

SARDINIA 2023 – 19th International Symposium on Waste Management, Resource Recovery and Sustainable Landfilling has been held from 9th to 13th October 2023 in the traditional venue of the Forte Village Resort in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy.

Sardinia 2023 is organized by IWWG, with the scientific support of the Universities of Padova (IT), BOKU (AT), Tongji (CN) and the Technical Universities of Luleå (SE) and Hamburg (DE). The event is held under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security, the patronage of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology, the patronage of Regione Sardegna, and is held under the aegis of Tavolo di Roma.
The event was attended by 513 delegates, from all over the world (53 represented countries). More than 450 scientific presentations were delivered during the conference week and 11 active labs made participants get hands-on experience and apply theoretical notions to actual case studies. The 2023 programme included 8 parallel tracks of oral sessions, workshops, active labs and other practical activities, discussion forums, poster presentations, business meetings, a commercial exhibition, outstanding networking opportunities and exciting social events!
